News from Care WisconsinSeptember 1, 2008 Care Wisconsin Sponsors Best Time Ever Contest
for Middle School Students To spotlight the importance of positive communications between the generations and diversity awareness, middle school-aged students are invited to participate in the Eighth Annual Best Time Ever Art and Writing Contest.  The contest is presented by Care Wisconsin, headquartered in Madison, with local offices throughout south-central Wisconsin. The nonprofit offers health and long-term care services to frail seniors and adults with disabilities who live in the county and qualify for their programs.
Students can submit entries describing the best time they spent with a family member, teacher, neighbor or friend. Entries can be expressed in any creative form from stories to drawings, paintings or poems. The person each contestant selects to honor must be over age 50, or have a physical and/or developmental disability. Written entries should be 300 words or less. Artwork can be any size. Sponsors include American Family Insurance, Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center and Mt. Olympus, Wisconsin Dells. The contest is also supported by Capital Newspapers’ Newspapers in Education literacy program. Community leaders and Care Wisconsin board members will select 100 top entries and a drawing will be held with the winner receiving a two-night stay for four people at the Wintergreen Resort and four passes to Mt. Olympus at Wisconsin Dells. A booklet will be published with the top 100 entries, including essays and photos of artwork. Entries can be mailed to Best Time Ever Contest, c/o Care Wisconsin, 2802 International Lane, Madison, WI 53704 or hand delivered between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Entries will not be returned. All entries need to include the entrant’s name, age, home address, home phone, school and a parent’s or guardian’s signature. Deadline is October 24, 2008.
