Service Authorizations and Member-Related Incidents Care Wisconsin encourages open communication on all issues related to services and our members. If you have a member-related question or concern, your first contact should always be the member’s care team. If you are not able to reach the care team, please contact Care Wisconsin’s local program managers.
Prior authorization is required for services, and claims will not be paid without specific authorization. Please contact a member's Care Wisconsin care team to receive prior authorization for services. Please be sure that the person for whom you are providing services under Family Care or Partnership is a Care Wisconsin member. To access services, Partnership members use their Care Wisconsin Health Plan Member ID card and Family Care members use their Wisconsin Medicaid Forward ID Card. (Please note: There is not a separate member ID card for Family Care.)
Regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., CT. After business hours, you can reach the on-call staff for both the Partnership and Family Care programs on evenings, weekends and holidays by calling the Care Wisconsin administrative offices or the local office telephone numbers listed below.
