UPDATE TO PROVIDERS – January 2010

As you are aware, Care Wisconsin changed its third party administrator, effective November 1, 2009.  The third party administrator (TPA) is the company that receives and processes claims (bills) from providers serving members in our Family Care and Family Care Partnership programs.

During this conversion, there have been a number of issues that have affected our ability to pay claims in a timely manner.  As a result, some providers are experiencing delays in payments for services provided during the month of November 2009.

The best way to get answers about the status of your claims and resolve your claims issues is to call our Provider Help Desk.  (Due to high call volume, you may have to leave a message with the Provider Help Desk and await a return call.)  Please call:

Provider Help Desk - Toll Free: (877) 496-3858
Madison Local: (608) 245-3053

Staffed Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

We treat each claims issue on an individualized basis, since the circumstances behind why a payment was delayed may vary for each provider.  The Provider Help Desk staff will gather details about your situation and let you know when you can expect a follow-up phone contact.  We will research the specific claims issue and then call you with the resolution and anticipated timeline.

Expediting claims is our number one priority.  We’re dedicating additional people and technology resources to finding solutions to each claim issue, so that we can return to timely claims processing as soon as possible.
