News from Care WisconsinJuly 7, 2009 Wautoma student wins Best Time Ever grand prizeCare Wisconsin recognized Wautoma 8th grader Brooke for her insightful “Best Time Ever” essay on spending time with a family friend, Amy, who has Down’s syndrome. Brooke was awarded a two-night stay at Wintergreen Resort in Wisconsin Dells and passes to Mount Olympus in front of eighth grade students at Parkside School on April 29. Brooke entered the annual contest along with other students in the classroom of teacher Brionne Roberts-Bray. With support from American Family Insurance, Care Wisconsin sponsors the “Best Time Ever” contest to spotlight positive experiences of middle school students with seniors or adults with disabilities, the two populations served through the nonprofit organization’s local health and long-term care programs. Community volunteers helped Care Wisconsin select the Top 100 best entries from a total of 1,108 submissions from 18 counties in South Central Wisconsin. Brooke’s name was drawn from the Top 100 entries to receive the Wintergreen Resort and Mount Olympus trip.
