Meet Our Employees: Afra

We respect and support the stories shared with us. Meet Afra, a Program Manager at our Dane County Office!

“I’m Coming Out…

Because I am in harmony with my spirit and who I am as a person. I also recognize that not everyone is in harmony with who they are.Coming out is not a gay or straight issue. This is a human being issue. We need to change our culture to be one of love and inclusion. It’s important to me to create a brave space, a more vibrant and diverse world. So many organizations worry about the impact to their business growth or financial growth, not recognizing that ultimately this issue is about personal growth and loving people for who they are. At the end of the day we are all people, created equally and we all have value to add. I am lucky to work for an organization that has taken a stance on issues related to the LGBTQ [community]. As a world we need to challenge ourselves on how we see other people. I love me and you should love you too. Maya Angelou once said, ‘Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in this world, but it has not solved one yet’. “

National Coming Out Day is on October 11! At Care Wisconsin, we’ll be wearing pink to show our support! Thank you Afra, for being unapologetically you! We’re glad to have you here at Care Wisconsin.
