Providers: Online Dementia Trainings from UW-Oshkosh

Offered by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Center for Community Development, Engagement and Training has developed a series of trainings related to dementia care for crisis responders, caregivers, healthcare providers, family and community members. They offer information and techniques that support successful interactions with people living with dementia. Need CEUs? Courses are approved for CEUs through the UW-Extension.

Dementia Generalist Course
Are you a professional healthcare provider? A crisis responder? A friend or family caregiver? Choose the version of this course based on your role in the life of a person with dementia. All three versions include information about different types of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease, warning signs vs. normal signs of aging, risk factors, behavioral symptoms, de-escalation techniques and more.
